New 2007 B&O CVO Ultra Arrived
« on: July 23, 2006, 03:28:26 PM »

Black and Orange Just un-boxed at my dealer today!  They called me this morning as I asked for a look at the first one they got.  The paint is just okay, actually a bit disapointing.  The orange fades into the black and there is a lot of metal flake in the black and some in the orange.  The inner primary is coated in black as are the transmission and most of the lower engine, starter, etc.  I'm a little back and forth on buying this bike.  The paint is not what I want at all.  So, I'd be replacing the paint at another $4500 min to be happy, before I replaced all the bolts and OCD'd my wallet too.  I think I'll wait for the 2008.  If you're interested let me know ASAP. It's available at msrp.

No pictures??? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] As for the parts you mentioned coated in black (inner primary, starter, and transmission) that is normal for the black engines. One good thing is the starter matches the engine unlike the starter on the satin motors. :( Another good thing about the black motors is that all the pieces of chrome (IMO) stand out so much more/better against that motor.

Actually, the black/orange flamed set that's a limited 50 set deal is probably going to be a better "CUSE" paint than the new 07 black and orange paint.  Some of us put $5000 into the motor, others into the paint.  Who's to say who's right?  Though, I'd probably buy a standard Ultra and upgrade it.  Paint set, 120 motor kit and be about where the 07 CUSE costs.

If you refuse it for the paint instead to be the first person to own the new CUSE '07........ must be very disapointed[smiley=nixweiss.gif] Personal Opinion: the paint in '06 is nicer.......

That would have been good enough, beggars can't be picky. ;D I'm real interested in seeing this new oil filter that MoCo came out with. I can't remember if they are supposed to be on the 110ci or not, been on pins and needles waiting to see one of these on the bike. Did you notice this when you saw bike?

Didn't the moco get rid of a cartridge filter when it dropped the shovel?????  The removable end cover may make an oil change a little less messy, IF we can keep the cover from leaking in between!!

Paint set, Build the motor, add all the other SE stuff, and you will have spent SE ULTRA money outlay, that will have an immediate street value of $25K tops!! :)  I already did this route on my 2003 Road King, and took the spanking for that course of action!

But then again, my Black/Orange SE ULTRA is "in-route" and  I am jealous that yours is already here!

I didn't look at the oil filter that close.  They just took it out of the box and it still had some of the foam on it.  I'll stop by their tomorrow after work and take some high quality pics.

Don't think the new oil filter will be on the CUSE since it comes with the premium oil cooler and per the specs the new filter will not fit with this cooler.

'd00d,

The info on that filter is a little ambiguous, in that it says it won't fit with the Premium Oil Cooler Kit, but it then says it will fit touring models with the cooler 62895-03A, which I believe is the one that came on our SEEG's.  ???  Perhaps what they mean is that it won't fit with the new version of the premium oil cooler that they just came out with for '07.  Either way, I'm not understanding why H-D decided to reinvent a cannister filter with a separate filter insert.  This is a very old idea which was put out to pasture back when spin-on filters were invented.  As I remember them, they were a real pain in the butt.  Leaks, big mess during changes, etc.

"Fits '92-07 Sportster®, FXR, Dyna™, Softail® and Touring models. Does not fit models equipped with Premium Oil Cooler Kits, Touring models equipped with Sidecar, or some models equipped with Front Spoilers. Can be used on '99-'06 Touring models equipped with Oil Cooler P/N 62895-03A. "
