CVO 4 in mufflers / Fullsac / on a 95 in
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:28:12 PM »

Would you know of any drawbacks of putting a set of 4 in CVO mufflers w/ Fullsac conversion on a 95 in stock motor ?

most all the police bikes were 95" - and i think some cvo bikes were stock 95"

ive seen some dyno sheets of stone stock 95" police bikes - they have 4 or 5 more hp than is explainable. you have to do a LOT of mods to get back to the stock power. ive talked to a few tuners over the years and historically certain police models are obviously "worked" they look stone stock but will out run any stage ii bike of the same year. for those lucky few to have one of those - dont change anything! hd never published what is different, so its hard to duplicate. one think i noticed on a police bike i looked over very carefully was the air cleaner had holes all along the bottom and back - factory molded holes.. special tires - load rating for only ONE person - they are "odd" not just a production bike with funny paint and bags.

in recent years police bikes have been 103 for quite awhile , the 06 police bikes were, i think, 95 - but they switched to 103 at some point.

I know of no "stock" 95" motor that was ever available from the factory - but I could be wrong. I have always thought that a 95" motor could only be built by installing a 95" big bore kit into a TC88 engine. I have never heard of the factory offering this configuration, but maybe they did on the Police bikes. That would surprise me though... the MoCo isn't known for offering custom high-performance builds... but they have introduced things on the Police bikes before they were made available on the civi bikes. And sometimes they were never made available on the civi versions at all... such as the .050" decked heads on certain Evo CHP bikes in the late 80s... or was it the early 90s? Things get fuzzy...

My '03 CVO Road King was 103 with "Centennial Gold paint" one of the prettiest paints IMO.
The Soft tail was maybe 95"??

The 2005 Limited Edition 15 anniversary Fatboys in Black or Silver with the gold pinstriping came with a factory 1550 motor.  I know 2 people who are still riding them and Harley even offered a special S.E. 203 cam for this particular bike in the Screamin Eagle accessory catalogue
