Front end air pressure
« on: July 24, 2006, 07:24:52 PM »

I changed the fork oil this week end in my SERG and I have no clue how much air to put back in the forks. The manual shows 15 pounds than add 1 pound per 25 pounds of rider weight over 150 pounds. Than add 1 pound per 10 pounds of cargo. So after all is said and done I should have 20 pounds in them. Well that nearly rattled my fillings out. I backed it back down to 17 and it's better but still rough. I believe 15 is the baseline or minimum. What are you guys running in yours?

With some experimenting and some replies from the Road Glide board and Harley Tech site I got it. 15 pounds is the magic number. I took the bike for a ride this evening on several of the bumpy roads I usually avoid. I forgot how good my bagger use to ride. There is more to this than just the front end. I also installed the stock rear shocks as my Legends has been feeling a little harsh lately. I'm in no hurry to put the air back on right now. :)
