No Duane.  Haven't tried the o-ring Jim mentioned.  Do trust Jim though.  As written above said that Jim had recommended the part number but that I'd previously used replacements from an assortment pack. 

As have mentioned to you previously, however, have used a ring from a large assortment pack (have done this twice actually) that has worked without issue.  I know; the assortment pack came from Harbor Freight and is, therefore, to you a spawn of Satan's sphincter shooting o-rings.  But it has worked.

That's a juicy thought.

I was hoping by now he would have looked at the o-ring picture and compared to what he was using.
I can only assume the O-rings I bought using the number are correct. They are loose packed.
Just a bit leery because of the size difference.
As to your spawned o-rings  My concern here would be more towards the compatibility with fuel. Did you get a Viton kit?

Yes.  Actually have a few different kits here.  More than one would be compatible with the fuel.  But pretty sure the rings I've used in the couplers were from the Viton assortments.  Though.....  

Standard black rings from the general assorment packs have worked swimmingly (get it, swimming in fuel, I crack me up sometimes) in the couplers I use in the front crossover lines (not a pressurized fitting).  Have replaced those a couple of times also.  Was needed when a tank had been off for a longer time and I'd been too stupid to remember to plug the coupler back together to keep the rings from drying out.

Scratch that, I was thinking of the "line to tank" seal.

The coupler I am using is like a hydraulic connector, no visible o-rings.

Different product than I what I've got.  All three are standard "nipple" type couplers with an o-ring seal on the end.  Thinking back every coupler I've ever put on a crossover line was the same thing.  And have added them for a long time to many tanks.  Only hazard has always been to remember to snap them back together if tank is off for any length of time.  Keep them wet and they're fine.  Let them dry out and they'll leak.

I just put my tank back on last night and of course the quick connect leaked.

I used the o-ring Jim HDDude posted and after a 10 mile ride it is good to go. So there is a less expensive way to fix that issue. Would even consider replacing it whenever disconnecting that fitting but it is a bitch to get the old out without dumping fuel all over.

Was a lot less drama for me.  I just assumed Jim was right.

No drama for me and I didn't say Jim was wrong.

When he first posted that tip I went out and bought 6 of them. Figured it would be harder to lose a bag of 6 then figure out which one was which hanging on the bike locker.

I had asked Jim to confirm The number as when I matched up the case ring with the fuel check valve ring there was an obvious size difference.

Now that said, the ring I pulled out last night was nearly identical to the case ring. That was a replacement fuel check valve, so maybe OTC parts are different then OEM parts.

Gave up on it when I couldn't find the right o-ring...tried all the things you guys suggested. I called the dealer that I had 'issues' with late last season and talked to the owner. He made good on any short-coming from the 80,000km service....and replaced the fuel connection parts....and fixed a number of small 'irritations' as well. Oh, yeah...p/u and drop off back in my garage while I was away at work. Insurance goes on in the AM...time to ride!!!
