I agree.  Have a bud who put the SE Touring slip-ons on his Ultra and it is almost quiet as stock.  But the SE Pro Performance slip-ons are definitely louder - but not so loud as to be objectionable.
I ran the SE Pro Performance slip-ons on my 103 before going to the Rineharts and they sounded good but never ran them on the 88.  Yes, you're right, I have quite a collection of take-offs sitting in my basement!  ;)

103 which one of these selections are the ones you have for sale?

In case Brian didn't see this post, he has the SE Pro Performance versions with the groved billet end caps, if I'm not mistaken.  If you're going to get the SE pipes, this is the way to go, in my opinion...even if you want different caps, you can get them in three different versions.  I would say they have a nice mellow sound, plenty loud, but not as loud as the Rhineharts...if I were taking a stab, with RH being 100% louder, these would be in the 50 to 60 % range.  You will like these mufflers!!  And, 103thunder is a straight up guy, so no worries there.

Terry's correct.  These are the SE Pro mufflers NOT the quieter touring ones that came stock on the SEEGs.  Again, here's a link to my ad in the "For Sale" section of this board with the description and part numbers for both the mufflers and end caps: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1151984807

I agree with TC.  The SE Pro Performance slip-ons (65115-98B) are considerably louder than stock, but not too loud in my NTBHO.  Only "problem" I have had is occassionally when riding with the Mrs. & have the intercom on if I need to "get on it" say to pass a vehicle the addtional sound will break the vox on the intercom.  But at normal acceleration and crusing it is no problem and sounds really good.  Has a Gold winger (yeah we did let him ride with us) comment to me that he really liked the sound of my pipes.  I've ridden behind others with these pipes and cannot hear them at all when crusing at a normal distance behind them.  Only hear them when pulling away from a stop or if really gettin' on it.  I like 'em.

My neighbor just bought an 05 ultra classic. Its a standard bike with an 88" engine. He was asking me about exhaust systems, and I have no experience with this type so I told him I would get him some opinions from guys that know his bike. He wants to get some power that he can combine with an air filter upgrade, RT and Dyno tune. He wants a good chrome pipe.

Suggestions and pictures for him would be greatky appreciated. Thank You

RINEHART True-Duals Rule!  RINEHART has a 2 into 1 Header, especially for stock 88's, also.  However, a Bagger just don't look right with one pipe, to me, anyway.  The most economic way to produce more HP, and utilize the stock crossover exhaust system, would be to install the OTIS "Boost."  Purchase a freeze plug for a Small Block Chevy Engine.  Drill a 3/16" or 1/8" hole in the center of it.  Remove your rear Header pipe, and install the freeze plug in the left side of the crossover.  Seal with JBWeld.  OTIS can tell you all about it.  He's the Daddy of it.  Later--HUBBARD

Mr. Hub

Are all Rinehart true duals for dressers the same?
Meaning, is there a later edition that addresses the metal cracking issue?
If so, how do we tell which set we are getting?

If that's 2 many questions,,,,, please advise!

Jorge, can you quantify how much increase in sound you have over the pipes that came on the SEUC?  10%  20%?

Roger...I would say like 40-50%.....

Ive listened to them all at HD Dudes house when he works on them...I ordered the Freedom true duels. The best sounding pipes in my opinion. To each their own.

Hey Jorge which map are you running?  That's the same setup I'm running but mine is not as strong as I thought it would be on the top end as I am running map #36 from the SERT. The only difference is my bike has the 8 degree fuel injectors instead of the 25 degree which map 36 for the SERT calls for.  Wondering if this would cause it to be weaker?
Bubba
Bubba,

Harley came out with new maps when they did the injector service bulletin for the TC88's, ie. if the dealer changed out the injectors to the new 25° version, they had to download a new calibration to go with it.  From that I would guess that there had to be enough difference to affect emissions.

I certainly appreciate as does my neighbor all the help. Thank you all very much. One last question, Does Rinehart have a Corporate website or do you have to order from a distributer. I have searched to no avail. And if they must be purchased from the outside, what is the best option.

Thanks again.

The "new" Rinehart True Duals corrected the cracking problem by eliminated the welded tab and adding a clamped tab.  This eliminates the stress when bolting to the mounting bracket (attached at the starter).  The welded tabs sometimes did not attach at the bracket very well, and if you did not shim them, you ended up with a crack.  The clamped tab allows you to position it exactly where you need it.
