That's why this site is so important to CVO owners...the info fills in the gaps.  ;) spyder

There are separate, supplemental manuals for your CVO.  The touring manual is your "generic" tool for your year model, but there are service manuals, parts manuals, electrical diagnotics manuals specific to your model.

They will not list parts that do not come stock on the bike, however, nor tell you how to service them.

It is frustrating, but it's nothing new to us here.  Consider the fact that the typical dealership only gets a few of each model, each year, and it's no surprise the salespeople, parts people, and in most cases, the service department, doesn't know as much about the bike as you do.

I had to explain to them how the NIM worked when mine was acting flakey, and let them know there was a new part number so they could order it for replacement.  When I picked up the bike new from the dealer, I told the salesman how things worked on the bike...he didn't have a clue.  Not knocking him, because he might have only sold one CVO all year, and that was to me.  It's not a good excuse, but it's an excuse.

If you have questions about your bike, it's better to ask them here so that you'll know what's happening when you get to the dealer and can tell them how to fix things under warranty, or what modification you want to do that they'll tell you can't be done.  Common sense would tell a good parts/service person that if a NIM comes on the CVO Ultra's, there is a way to make it work on ANY HD bagger, CVO or not.  What the parts book tells them is gospel though...and they don't question it.

If you search here for installing a NIM on a CVO SG, you'll find all you need to know with regards to what parts you'll need and how to properly install them.  Early on, the HD instructions were even wrong and some people here figured it out.  So, you could print out the instructions for them to install the NIM and associated wiring harness, or do it yourself.

Just to update, I am leaning towards the RT 660 and no NIM, I remembered today using the cell phone GPS on the cell phone how much I hate the voice talking and I always mute it, we'll see what happens. Gonna wait until I do the handlebars for the GPS to wire it internally through the bars along with the other wires......

Thanks that's exactly what I wanted to do to mine.

Got any pics of it? It mounts next to the switch housing right?
