Hi! as i explained in the "new member" section i'm writing from France and my English is... how i could say that? very poor  :-\ (to stay polite) so you are allowed to go out of this Topic any time  ::)

I have a question about the exhaust system of my RG 110ci and maybe someone here could help me:
my bike has a Vance and Hines POWER DUAL + a pair of SE 80727-09 (I bought these SE exhaust for 2 years ago for my 96 ci RK Custom).  I bought my 09' CVO for 2 mounth ago and I put these SE exhaust on it.
Few days ago i was reading this forum and discovered that all SE exhaust are not matching with the 110ci and it's seems to be true because HD catalog says "all model exept the 110 ci" so now i'm a bit afraid about these SE... Are they too "little" or too "closed" for the 110? does the cylinder head could be too hot because of them?
I asked the question to my work shop, man said that because I have the True Dual the 80727-09 SE are OK, he added that it wouldnt be ok with the "catalysed" OEM head pipes... I don't know if it's the good answer.
What do you think about my problem? should I get the 80727-09 out of my 110? someone here as the same one? or an other ref of SE on is 110?
I asked to my HD dealer for new  SE he said that there is NO solution for me on the European Screamin Eagle catalog and he add that since few mounth it's impossible for him to order louder pipe from US. I know i could get a pair of Vance but I had them on my last HD and they are too louder for my contry specialy with the POWER DUAL.
TX in advance for your help!  :2vrolijk_21:

PS: even if no one answer I'm happy to be here on this Site  :pepper:

Hi there France .
You did great with the English ;-)
I had a similar problem in Australia when I  bought my FLHXSE2 in Oct 2010 .
I wanted the V&H power duals with High output Mufflers , but mufflers were temporarily unavailable .
So I fitted the Power Duals and the original mufflers , but because it still sounded like a sewing machine I had an
exhaust specialist re- core them ( I'm guessing like the fullsac system you read lots about on this forum ) .
This sounded OK but when he High Outputs arrived I fitted them and love the performance and sound . I'm sure you can get "Quiet Baffles " for the V&H mufflers? - Check out their website .
Good Luck

Hi Dave, TX for your answer :2vrolijk_21:
yep it's possible to get a Quiet baffles for the Vance, I had the Monster Oval on my RK 103ci but they're still too loud even with this baffle. Not too loud for me but too loud for the Police!  and here (in France) Police men are spending all time long to put a ticket to the man like me  :jack: noise in forbidden no way so I sold them.
You know the SE I have for the moment are just a little bit too loud because of the DUAL but a can deal with them, they are "Street legal" (it's inscribed on them) so with the DUAL it's limit but still acceptable.

So, If I have to take my SE out of the bike I wouldn't have any choice: I'd have to put the OEM exhaust, and as you may know the '09 didn't come with SE (as the '12 for example)  it was equipped with classic "mute" exhaust like all HD. I said "mute" for "without voice" because European Exhaust system is not like the US one: it's completely quiet and "closed" with special Baffle ... no noise and because it's closed your engine is getting hot and HOT, not good for his head

Best think for me is to confirm the my present SE are OK or to find an other pair of SE from a '12 CVO i guess....

Shame that the " noise" police spoil the party heh?
Not sure what to suggest .
Let us low how you go .
Ride safe - and not too loud;-) !

I know and I agree! loud pipe save life!
some friend of mine are still using loud pipe, it depends of the way you are using your bike, for me i'm taking the high way every day so everyday i have to deal with the Police.
Beyond this fact our Lincence driver is "limited" by 12 point, for each mistake done on the road you will lose 1 or few "point" if your bike is too noisy you will lose 1 point, a red light is minumum 3 points, too hight speed (if you're dvriving faster than required) cost a lot of point too! so you know, ther is no choice: u have to be kind and clean.... it wasn't like that when I was young, but now it is...
For sure i'll let u know the way i 'll fixe this issue, thank you for your time, ride safe!

France, your English is great.   :2vrolijk_21:  Much, much better than my French!  Your written English is at least as good as the average Australian's!  (Sorry, Dave H -  couldn't resist!)   :joker:

I miss the good old days, too.  I rode my bikes everywhere without people complaining, and never even heard of emissions, inspections, noise pollution, insurance, or licensing.  Of course, this was on a farm in Idaho.  I know that rules and restrictions have become necessary because of the increased number of people and pollution issues, but I do miss the good old days.  C'est la vie!

Ride safe and avoid the  :fireman: :police: :policeman: :bobby: :stop: :bobby2: :smash: :whip: :behead:

thanks a lot, the deal for me is to write without "goggling" every time. My goal (since long time  ;D) is to be able to speak/write everything fluently without help... so let's practice and cross the fingers!  :pepper:
OK, I've to find a solution for my exhaust, I wasn't afraid till I didn't know my problem but now I am! There is something strange: i do not understand why V.H, S&S, Supertrapp don't make any difference between the 96, 103 and 110 ci while Screamin'Eagle said that his exhaust are not working on the 110? Is it really dangerous or just a " Business bla bla " ? I wrote everywhere during the last years that the 110 ci  is not very resilient i wouldn't like to play with Devil.
