New Rear Tire (2011 CVO Street Glide)
« on: April 17, 2012, 05:26:53 PM »

Well, it was time for a new tire and I was not looking forward to spending a bunch of money on the single source option available. I have 4 HD dealers available to me.

Two Dealers were: $225.52 for tire + $75.00 Install = $300.52 plus tax, shop supplies & tire disposal

One Stealer was: $225.52 for tire + $133.50 Install = $350.02 plus tax, shop supplies & tire disposal (Doc's HD - Oldest Dealer West of the Mississippi)

Gateway to the West HD: $141.48 for tire + $44.00 Install + $.50 MO Tire Tax + $10.13 Sales Tax + $5.28 Shop Supplies + $2.00 Tire Disposal = $202.89!!!!!!!!
You are seeing the numbers correctly. They are selling a completely installed tire, including the tax & other fees, for $22.63 LESS than the other dealers are selling just the tire alone.

How in the world can Gateway sell the "Tire" for $84.04 LESS and the "Labor" for $33.00 or $89.50 LESS? They say they offer the best tire prices anywhere and although the lose on the deal it provides pull through shop business that they would not have ever had. Oil changes, Service, Brakes, Discussions about engine builds Etc..

Now THAT is a great deal and the way all Harley Dealerships should be thinking!!!!!!!!!! :2vrolijk_21:

Gateway to the West Harely Davidson
3600 Lemay Ferry Rd.
St. Louis, MO 63125
314-845-9900 (ask for PUTT)

Oh, by the way, they actually cleaned my chrome rear rim when they changed the tire. Nice!
