I have an itch...

Any advice from those who've had a 2008 and a 2012?

Can you compare features, ride characteristics, etc.?

And any insight on what might be new for 2013 would be appreciated, too!

The quick answer is there is no comparison, IMO the 2012 is light years ahead of the 2008. Handling, safety, just to name a few. The ABS brakes alone make it worth the price of admission. I'm sure others can offer further advise.

I had a 2008 Duracel, great bike, it does have ABS brakes.....

One thing I noticed on my 2012 is the seating position seems lower and my legs ride up higher on the foot pegs...took some getting used to any body else notice this?

Seat is alot more comfortable...

No comparison, the 2012 is a hell of a lot better in every way. Traded 08 SEUC w/48000 mi. for a new 2012 SEUC and took in for 1000 mi. service. Dealer let me ride my old 08 home(@35 mi.) & back while 12 being serviced. I thought I might like the 08 better. After that ride the dealer couldn't have GIVEN ME the 08 back.

I can't say for sure, because I've never ridden an earlier model Street Glide, but I've seen quite a few posts where folks have noticed increased buffeting on the 2012 SGs.  Could be the newer frame, seating position, lowers, etc.

I was surprised at the amount of buffeting when I first brought my bike home.  Windshield, fairing deflectors, fork deflector, and full face helmet were necessary before I felt comfortable.

Hey, you only live once, right?
