Got bored again this winter and started thinking about trading again. I still just could not get excited enough about the new ones to pull the trigger, so I channeled my boredom to mods for "ol' reliable." This bike still makes me grin when I ride it and feels great to me, even after 3 or 4 rides now on different bikes having the new frame. They're great, too, I just haven't seen one that makes me want to pony up the $20,000+ it would take to get one .... and possibly then have the stereo crap out, or tank badges fall off.

Besides, SEEGs still rule!

So, speaking of stereos, I've been wanting to add rear speakers and a tweeter pod for some time. I got with Pez at Hogtunes and decided to go with 2 of their new "REV" series 140 watt amps, one for the front speakers and tweeter pod and one for the rear speakers, their rear speaker pods which hold their larger-magnet front speakers, 4 of the 902.2 2-ohm speakers, and an HF-1 tweeter pod. Pez has a painter nearby who can match CVO colors, so I had him send it there and then back to him again for reassembly. For the second amp, they have a sweet bracket that replaces the right side fairing support bracket. No chance of that thing ever cracking!
This replaced my Hawg Wired DCS1202 plugNplay 2 speaker amp and Hawg Wired 4 ohm CX504-70 component speakers with crossovers. The Hogtunes setup completely blows it away! It is not even close to the same listening experience. The sound is so much more clear, lifelike and less distorted, with better imaging from the tweeter pod, not to mention this system plays considerably louder at the same volume level on the head unit. Also, I was getting some popping from the Hawg Wired amp whenever I shut it off. But, nothing with the Hogtunes amps, just total silence when it goes to sleep, like it should be.
