Cool that oil the old style way.

I've never personally done this but have seen it numerous times. Using the crash bar as an oil cooler. Yes it can be done and works very well. Cools the oil 20 to 30 deg.. Simply drill, tap and thread holes in the lower mounts. Then blow out the tube well and use a small magnet to remove any leftover metal. Install threaded fittings and then connect to the oil system on the bike.  There is numerous was of doing this.  Its best to do it just before an oil change is what I was told. The added oil capacity can't hurt either.

That's a trick I've not seen anyone do to a bike for a long long time.  Have seen it.  More than a few times actually.  But not since they started getting expensive or were commonly fixed with clothes hangers and chewing gum.
