Tour Pak Locks
« on: April 19, 2012, 08:36:13 PM »

I notice in the spring accessories cataloge "tour pak locks" for the detachable tour paks. I have not noticed this item mentioned . Is anyone familiar with them. The part number is 90300048 but there is no price.

I have one, they are nice to have.  Caution, they are really not a lock in the sense that if someone wants your TP, and has some time, it's not going to stop them.  None the less, it's worth having as a small deterrent.

I got em on all my quick release tourpak, back rest, and luggage rack. Yes it can still be gotten but it will slow em down.

Recently ordered, awaiting delivery.

My friend tells me that you may want to bend the key. Makes it much easier for you to unlock.

Also one thing to note--they will not work if your tour pack is used in ther solo position......very difficult to the get to the lock and you have to cut or bend the key to even fit it in there.

Brukus makes a simple piece that locks the button preventing latch from rotating. I use on the passenger backrest  and in conjunction with the HD lock when using the detatchable tour pack.

I put these thing on my CVO but can get them to lock.   They seem to get hung up on the black plastic.

Guys what's the secret?

Yes, I just had my key shortened by about an inch. Works great now.

Sorry! I know it's probably too late but I never got the message about this question.
Answer - our product is very small and designed to blend in. We black powder coat them, but can leave them un-coated and polished if needed, just let us know. When installed, you only see the small end where the security screw is located. The Bullet itself is only about an inch long.
