Well, the new engine is running through the break in now. I can't wait to get through the next 1000 miles. Gone is the entire Mag. Mar. system, in with the S&S 52mm throttle body with S&S VFI closed loop system. Balanced 106 crank, balanced S&S piston set, 585 S&S gear driven cams, SE billet cam plate and pump, Heavy A$$ clutch that I forget, and all head work by Leo Hess at Full Blast Engineering. 10.5 to 1 compression, with all the normal mods and springs. Countless other pricey do-dads like piston oilers and compression releases. (Dang it all adds up!)
So far the throttle response is awesome and the pull is magnificant. (At the reduced throttle I will use during break in...) A little poppy at decel., and a little cough here and there at extended idle, but the auto tune needs a little time, with only 100 miles on the engine. S&S set up the base tune after Leo gave them the setup. I know that at half throttle this thing feels like it will eat my old 95 alive. I can't wait till I feel comfortable using full throttle...
( For those who do not know, the engine ate itself last fall. It wasn't that bad though, the cases were still good....) I do feel that I have finally put the Screamin' in my Eagle.
