Need Info Recessing Bike Lift-Completed!

 :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:Currently building a new garage and I have a Bike Lift that I want to recess into the floor. How much bigger should I make the Width and Length than the size of the lift?

Should I also make the floor of the recess 4" thick?

lurking here over the years, I remember that a large thread on this subject is in the older posts. the above link will provide some awesome pics of what other guys have done. Still planning on one myself, good luck with the project, it's worth the effort.

Pictures to come. I went with Titan 1500XLT. The concrete was still wet when I left for work tonight. The hole is all set in the concrete and it looks great so far, as long as it sets in the hole.  :huepfenjump3:

looks good, did you plum the air/electric through the cement///  :o    floor looks nice, thinken about staining the cement ??

Yes there is a conduit for the air hose. Made the hole 12" longer and 3" deeper so I can store the Hydraulic pump below ground level. No stain.

Looks like much more width to the right than the left of the lift.  Work bench will go on that side?

Nope work bench on left and towards the garage door. Centered between the 2 windows. In front of the lift I'm planning a row of Ridg-U-Rak shelfs 22' X 8' 18" or 24" deep. Lift is 5 Foot from the wall. Garage is 24' X 32' outside. Approx 22'6" X 32'6" inside.
