. . . I want that stripped down look you get when battery acid eats through your trousers.

[smiley=nervous.gif] Uh, that image gives new meaning to the term "stripped down."  [smiley=shocked2.gif]

This thread reminds me of the one awhile back in the SEEG section about eliminating the right-side front rotor and caliper in order to show off more of the wheel . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . might look cool, but not safe!

you know, 103, NiteAl did that (removed one rotor) and he rides hard in the mountains and has no problems... 8-)...I just could never bring myself to give up one of the rotors since I got used to having 2.......my FLSTN has only one and I can sure tell the difference between the two bikes in front wheel stopping power.   :o   [smiley=drink.gif] spyder

I guess I'm going to be the different one in the group, but [highlight]I don't ride w/my spots on during day[/highlight]. I figured I got the "Pumpkin" color so everyone could see me. The other day while riding on the interstate one of my co-workers was heading in the opposite direction and commented how he could see the bike really well from a distance. He stated that he first saw this bright orange bike, and then, as it got closer he saw this big black guy on it and he knew it was I. ;D

Moral of this story is bright orange bike, w/big black man on it should make it easy for people to see me. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

ahh, 'd00derator sir,

I pay close attention to these things, and no matter what color the bike, I definitely see bikes coming toward me better with 3 lights shining.

I be that other stripper!! I am in the process of changing out the lower legs for the single brake but I did upgrade to the PM 6 pistons and a whole new brake line setup...keeping all original stuff so this may be just a trial for a future project on my road king. I have contemplated stripping the passing lamps also. As some know here I drive truck over the road with oversize equipment, lights flashin all over, bright oarange equipment, red truck, yellow signs, orange flags etc....----you would be amazed how many people still dont see me till the last minute - real scary!! Anyhow - I can say spending all the time I do on the road and looking for bikes, a properly set up Harley dresser with the passing lamps just a lil upward is the easiest bike to see out there besides a bike with a headlight modulator. So, my passing lamps remain, anyhow on a CVO Electraglide the setup is way slicker than the ol light bar deal so it just looks right anyhow...just my two cents...! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I tried your suggestion yesterday while riding (running w/spots on), and it didn't hurt me at all. :o ;D I guess I was just being somewhat lazy (not bothering to switch them on while riding) [highlight]and anal (having all the switches in one direction[/highlight]). My driving at night is very limited (I would use them at night though), but now will try to remember to use them during daylight hours.

d00d, my lights are never off.  Just like your "apparatus", the more lights the better!

What the hell was the TM anyway?

I switch the feed from the acc. switch and the yellow feed on the passing lamps so my lights work on high or low beem. I have done mine and all my dudd's works great and helps when riding country roads so you can see all those critters on the road.

Day or night ride with all three lights on. Never consider turning them off.  Every time I get flashed by a cage to dim them (even though on low) it reinforces that actually do see me!!!!
