A ride to the Dragon on the 12 SERG today.
I left this morning at 7:00 am and was back home at 4:30 pm.
Work has been getting in the way so the 12 SERG wasn't getting the attention it deserved.
I left home this morning with 488 miles on the clock and arrived home with 1027. A 539 mile ride and the 12 SERG did great.
All in all it was a very good day, except for a wide load tractor trailer on the Dragon. (pictures on that later)
I averaged 44 mpg and am very pleased with that.

I was rolling along fairly good on the Dragon and run up on this.
There were many signs posted that stated this type of rig was not allowed on the Dragon.
But here it is, I can only guess the driver can't read or didn't care.

And he was taking all of both lanes to get around the curves.

He saw that I was taking pictures and pulled over to let me pass.
I rode on ahead and stopped to see how bad it looked coming from the other direction.
Hopefully he didn't kill anyone today.
*note, his rear wheels were in the grass on my side of the road

I try to record the milestones on mileage for all the bikes.
With the 12 SERG I have a picture of it with one mile and now 1000 miles.
10K miles is next.

Different perspective.  "Trying to make a living" equates to taking the road to save a few minutes compared to other alternatives.  Potentially jeopardizing the safety of others on the road (not even speaking to the lack or road courtesy just slowing everyone else down) just to save a few minutes isn't a decision worth defending.


Chip, glad you had a great day on the new bike.  Hope it was as much fun as it looks like it was.  Great looking bike :2vrolijk_21: .
