Are your tires the original ones that came with your bike when new, you said original but just making sure? I have never got close to 10K miles on a rear tire although the last one had 6,500 and had plenty of thread left but this one cupped bad so I replaced it. I have 50K miles on my SERK and every front tire cupped usually near 10,000 miles, I'm guessing that the rubber compound has changed because only the last rear tire cupped. Sure makes the bike handle like crap when they are both cupped. I would try the suggestion on the safety issue, what do you have to loose. The SM at the new dealership I now go to recommended that I switch to Metzlers next time. He told me in all his years of being in the industry he has never seen the amount of cupped tires from any company, plus they are not cheap. Since March of 08 I have had 9 front tires, one was a 407 that cupped at 4K, the next 407 was switched out to the 408 per the bulletin. I also had 2 replaced due to nails plus I hit a beam in the road which gave me a new wheel, tire, bearings, 3rd set of defective rotors. The rest just cupped. On the rear I believe I have had 9 tires installed, 2 with flats and the others just wore out very prematurely. Sure glad I purchased the wheel & tire coverage. I actually check my air pressure 2 to 3 times a week and adjust accordingly to being solo, 2-up and 2 up with gear. I wrote the air pressures needed on a shelf along with my Bitubo settings for a quick & accurate reference. That way I'm totally confident going into the first series of twisties when I leave my driveway in the country. Having a system and sticking to it is a pain but I'm sure it has saved my can a time or two.
Good Luck
