Another 110 bites the dust

Well guys, you can now add me to the long or short list of 110 failures.
I had a knocking noise last weekend, took it into the shop, few days later they call me and tell me the rod bearing went out.
So I asked them why, the tech said he has not seen much of this failure since the 07's.
My shop is wonderful and said they would cover it under warranty with no problems and that was nice to hear.
Didn't ask what oil I used, what cams where in it, or any other chit like that, they just stepped up to the plate and said they would fix it for me.

Then I was walking around the shop waiting to see what I wanted to do with that bike.
Then I saw 2012 Electric Orange/ Black Diamond bike and had to have it.
So I made the trade.

I was not sure where to put this thread because of that.  HAHA
It was a bad day and a good day all at the same time.

But my 110 did fail at 18000 miles and that sucks.
Had cams, tune and exhaust and that was all.

Bummer you had the failure - but your new Orange/Black 2012 CVO Ultra is one beautiful bike! I looked at one of those at Killer a couple of months ago. Enjoy it!

Brings to mind an online article I read several years ago.  Bill Gates was asked his thoughts about Linux as a competitor.  He suggested it wasn't a threat and stated that his largest "competitors" were the folks who had an older version of Windows and were satisfied with it, so didn't want to upgrade.  It's a proven business model to continue making inferior product and getting/keeping folks on the upgrade treadmill?

Seriously, though, congrats!  Better luck with this one.

   I've seen more hd rod failure's lately, with good pinion shaft run out. hope it's not the tip of an iceberg.

Hope you are wrong also.
I am going to run this one a little more like a touring bike instead of like a drag bike.

Thanks, I do sort of agree with you, but no other brands fit my wide butt.
Just sayin, and its only money, I cant take it with me.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but a BIG congratulations on your beautiful new ride... Just another example of how everything that happens is for a reason and sometines if you look closely "has a silver lining", or in your case orange & black!
