Why would you doubt Mustang? You don't think they know what they're doing?

Just because they tell you the strips need to come off dose not always mean they need too I,m just asking to see if someone has the seat and this fit without removing them.

That's a great looking seat.  Let us know how you like it on a long trip.  I have the mustan 2 pc seat.  I didn't have to remove the strips but I did have to remove the bumpers that were attached on the rear of the seat.  I just snipped them odd and it went right on. That was no big deal if that's all you would have to do.  :)

Ok, I have to ask what strips you are talking about?  We run the Mustang full tour, bigger version of the sport on our 09.  Fits very nice & is very comfortable, not as good as a custom fit Corbin but good for out of the box.

I got the day tripper and didn't remove the strips. What I did was remove the two rubber bumpers from the seat and replace them with a couple plastic push in tabs which I picked up from autozone for a few bucks.  Rode with the wife the past few days down in South Carolina and had no problems.  I did however have a problem with my Rinehart slip on muffler turning gold at 2500 miles.  I'm pretty bitter about that...
