WFP, thanks for the idea of shoving the stock rubber covers through the grommet and into the fairing so they'd be there later, if needed. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  A little WD-40 on the inside and a little dielectric silicone grease on the outside and they went through with no problem.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I also put a little silicone grease on the retaining clips before I snapped them on.  Went on fairly easy that way and I think may have prevented scraping any chrome off the covers when installing, too.

Good idea about using the silicone on the retaining clips...I will have to do that when I install them Sunday as we endure the all day rain from Charley!
