I was suprised to find that the lumbar support backrest does not come with a template to drill holes in the tourpak lid.

Does anyone have a pattern they would be willing to share with me?  or  perhaps dare i suggest that someone use their own to make a template for me?

52300031 was the part number ...  ive been doing a little research today and i think any wraparound backrest template will work ...  6 holes total,    2 on each side, by side,   2 holes slightly offset from the middle, up and down...

Dave, my tour pack is drilled for both types of backrest.  If you want to make a template off of it, you're certainly welcome.  However, leaving for Colorado in the morning, so it'll have to wait until I get back in a couple of weeks.

If you don't find one before I get back, shoot me a PM.

JCZ,  thank you for the offer ..   I did locate a template thanks to another CVO site member however the factory templates do not seem to be very precise.  I am unsure of alignment and positioning and am afraid to drill .. hahahah

An opportunity to position this template on existing holes to understand proper alignment would be great ...  I will ping you when you are back if i have not made any progress by then.

I understand.  I'm afraid to drill in my own paint, too.  But I don't have any problem drilling somebody else' paint.
