2012 CVO Street Glide Exhaust and Headers
« on: May 09, 2012, 04:41:56 PM »

I bought a pair of the Freedom 4" racing slipons at PC Bike Week.  I have been told so much about header pipes some say do the x pipe fromV&H or power duals and the Freedom gus said that was all a marketing plot to sale product.  Can some one that has purchased either the V&H power duals or Freedom True duals tell me how and what you feel about your choice.

I have the Vance & Hines power duals with the 4" Rineharts and I love the look and the sound  ;D.  More people that have seen my power duals have converted to them that I know.  :2vrolijk_21:

I have just seen an ad for Cobra duals. They have a cross over similar to an "H" pipe that is used on cars to improve bottom end on dual systems. I did a search but found very little information on them. Has anyone had/heard anything about them?
I contacted the company and got a quick response but, as yet, he has not provided me any test data on them. I'm thinking about giving them a try but if anyone has any horror storys, I'd go anouther route. I don't want anything thats impossible to tune.

I had looked at these as well, there's a member on another forum that just installed them with CFR slip ons and a Power Vision with a map from Fuel Moto, when he has more miles on it I will get his feedback and post it up, but he hasn't put the bike on a dyne and don't know if he has any plans to.

They look mighty similar to the set from Khrome Werks (also re-badged by S&S) http://khromewerks.com/hp_exhaust.htm

"True Dual look with a hidden inter-connect for maximum top end horsepower, improved low end torque and sound damping as well as balanced flow and sound.  An independent dual pipe version was tested with less favorable results."

A friend here installed the Cobras on his new CVO 110 Street Glide. They also upped compression slightly (.030 Cometic), port matched inlet outlets, did a little work on the stock throttle body, remove the cat and tune. Stock 255 cams.  Results where 106.8hp and 128ft/lbst. Its sounds terrrfic to me, nice mellow "defintely sounds like a Harley" at Cruise and sounds off nicely when on the boil.  FWIW  twinotter   ;D

I'm thinkin' about going with the S & S head pipe and Von Braun Radio Flyer pipes. I think it'll be nice and deep and not too loud.

That sounds like the work of Don Morris.
