I meet Carroll at Willow Springs Raceway in 1984 for an MTV video shoot..  He brought in half dozen of his Shelby Mustang 'Convertibles' for an add company doing the video add..  Spent a good day with him and his  entourage. He is a awesome man defiantly strong on opinion and always right... he will defiantly be missed and the Cobras will live on for sure. I have a feeling this years Cobra's will be worth A LOT of $$$...... if you can get one..

This is a sad day for anyone who loves cars and especially performance cars. The list of innovations and ideas that Carroll came up with would fill many pages. His legacy of incredible vehicles will only be further cemented by his passing. It has always been a dream of mine to own a 67 Shelby GT 500 Convertible. Short of winning Megamillions I guess it will stay a dream. The price probably doubled with this news.

None of us live forever and I've been wondering for the past couple of years how Mr Shelby was doing. I had thought he was already into his 90's so this is further sad for me because it seems like maybe we are still losing him too soon.

Rest in Peace Carroll Shelby. Thousands upon thousands of folks you never met will mark your passing and say a prayer to speed you on your way to Heaven. Gonna get a little more rowdy up there I guess.

.....I have been involved in Shelby cars for less than a year and I didnt have the opportunity to meet him but what I all have read about him makes me missing him!!

I will have a little piece of your legacy. A Mustang Shelby Cobra 2012 and Dodge Dakota Shelby 1989.....

I am sure that you are in heaven convincing God to built a racetrak to compete and beat Enzo in the way you did in the '60's.........
