What Cam is in the 2011 FLHTK ?
« on: May 12, 2012, 08:36:23 AM »

I was at the Harley Shop getting My 2011 FLHTK Tuned after Installing Rhinehart Exhaust, Roland Sands Breather, and SE Tuner. I plan to install a SE 255 Cams and Head work when the Two year warrenty is up. So I ask.....What is the Cam that is in it now???? You know that nobody could answer me. Parts, Service, or Sales Department...... So somebody ........What cam is factory for my Bike????

This is just my opinion, but if you want cams, you'd be better off doing it now rather than running the engine for two years and then doing it. Parts such as lifters, push rods, rocker arms, valves are seating in and setting up specific wear patterns. You will be changing that and could cause some issues.
And you might want to look into Andrews 54 cams or Woods 555's opposed to those SE255's.
My bike had 2 miles on it when I did it. I trailered it home from the dealer and did my Fullsac Stage ll set up. Never look back.... :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

IIRC

-09/25 196 .471 Stock .048 Stock
42/-03 219 .474 - .110 Stock

If you do some head work, you may want to match THAT to whatever the head guy recommends to suit your riding style.
There are some better options than that 255 with that setup.
I have a nice FLHTK that all I did was 54 cams, little bump in compression, exhaust, intake, tune and it runs real nice.

The cams that come stock in the TC96/TC103 engines are not SE cams and they don't have a corresponding SE number like SE255.

The cam part numbers for your bike are 24608-07A front, and  25590-07A rear.  I believe the specs are shown in the attached chart at the top under stock cams.  Click on the picture to make it full size.

I did the SE 255's AND never looked back. And with the 255's I am not jeopardizing my warranty, as the owner of HDHD said, that the 255's are an EPA compliant cam set when used in conjunction with the correct intake and exhaust systems. I had my work done at that shop at 1000 mile mark, and like night and day is the difference!! What I know is, it now will out run a STOCK 110 handily and 6th gear is now really a usable gear!!!

Thanks for all the input. I will look at all the options. I spoke with Rick he is the head tuner and upgrade Mechanic at Cajun HD in lafayette La. What he has been doing is taking 110 Heads and reworking them, along with porting and polishing them. Installing them on 103 and getting crazy results. Has anyone heard of others doing this ? I don't want ta dragster......I just want more power....especially when riding two up with my Wife....

Warranty is only as good as your local dealerships service department. With that said, I don't have any warranty. I'd push my bike somewhere else before I used this one. A good dealership wouldn't give you a hassle over using Andrews Cams.

What do you call "crazy results"?  And what does he do besides the heads to achieve those crazy results?

I am currently out of the Country ( Saudi Arabia) But when I return I'll get some numbers from some of his results. He does use a SE 255 Cam.
