Winter Mods finally done
« on: May 13, 2012, 10:19:21 AM »

Tightened the last bolt on my list of mods that started back in December. Since I ride year around I sequenced things out so it took a while. Adding to the delay was the leaking gas tank weld that had me without a bike for 4-5 weeks. A big thanks to HD corporate and Eastside HD in Bellevue for covering that replacement!

List of mods were as follows:

Wild 1 12.5" Apes (bars, lines, wiring)
HD LED Headlight
Boom Audio amp install
LED Gauge bulbs
GPS power supply wired in
Fairing mirror removal and PYO Bagga Chips installed
Ness RAD II Mirrors
Kury Seat Screw kit

All the labor was done by me. Now it is time to just ride.

Sinktip, wondering did you change out your mirrors because you couldnt see with your new  handle bars or just liked the look better. Im tore bewtween the 12.5s or 14s but i want to keep my stock mirrors. And did you order your bars on line or through a dealer.  Thanks

I could see with the 12 1/2s fine but didn't like the look nor how I saw the road behind me.

I was torn between the same two bars and opted for the shorter ones. I don't strongly regret it but if I did it again, I would go 14s.

I got them direct from Wild 1. Picked up a set of the blems for a lot less. Third set of blems I have got from them over the years and never had any buyers remorse.

Thanks for the info, im leaning towards the 14's, and about the blemsihed handle bars. When you called them did you ask for blems, what kinda blems wore they and last if you dont mind me asking how much cheaper, cause now days save a buck or two and put it into something else on my bike.
Thanks once again

They used to have a Blems page on their website. Not sure if it is still there or not. When i got mine they didn't show any in stock so i called and sure enough they had a pair. the blem in this latest case was a 1/8 inch shallow scratch on the bottom of the bar just outside the clamp. It is the first blem from them I could actually find. The others were so slight I couldn't see them. As for price, I don't remember exactly but I think it was $125 for them. always seems to be about $100 less than full price.

Thanks for the great tip on the blemished handlebars, ordered the 14 in wild 1's 4 days ago and they came in today and it took me 10 mins before i could even find the blemish and saved me 60.00 bucks. Should be installed within a couple weeks and happy riding. Once again thanks.
