Found Neutral-And HOW
« on: July 29, 2006, 08:59:45 PM »

In another thread there was a discussion on finding neutral easier.  Not having that problem...BUT

Was getting the bike out of the garage today, turned it on, looked down and the green N was lit so I hit start. :o

You can imagine what a jolt it was as the bike was in first!  [smiley=oops.gif]  Nearly ran into momma's 78 Trans Am.  That would have been a problem!  After getting going the light never went out.

Is there an easy fix for a stuck neutral light?  I'll probably never trust the @$$% thing again.

Polecat,

It's a shame H-D doesn't have an interlock like the Japanese have had for about 20-30 years now that won't let the starter turn over unless you are either in neutral or the clutch is pulled in.
