And the best part is he wasn't swimming like a duck with his feet, since those were firmly attached to the prey.  He was using his wings.  Pretty smart eagle.

In Alaska its not to uncommon to see a salmon drown an eagle. When they swoop down and grab a salmon that is too big, the salmon will take it underwater and drown it because, once the eagle sets its talons into the fish, it cannot let go for more than a minute. If the eagle is lucky enough to get away it cannot fly until its wings dry out, so you will see them with there wings outstreched for quite a long time. Still bad news for the eagle though, cause its very vulnerable until its wings are dry enough to fly.
Hey, just some trivia I learned from a guide while on a hike in Alaska.
