Just saw this thread. This happened twice last summer going cross country and again on the way to AZ Bike Week. Both times the bolt was tight, crazy how this happens when its on a splined shaft with a indent.  :nixweiss:  Doc

I have mine cranked down very tightly with a hex bolt and some thread lock.  So far so good and its really on there... So stupid that in order to get that off the whole inner primary has to come off.. >:(

Well I'm gonna order one when its available. Looks like it'll never come loose again with clamping bolts on both sides.Plus if I have one as a spare mine will never come loose again!

The toe shifter on my FLHTCSE2 was on the floor board when I came into Fargo from the west.  Got to the motel by using the heel shifter.  Pulled the stripped toe shifter off and replaced it with the heel shifter for the rest of the ride home.  I don't use the heel shifter; however, I leave it on in the event of another shifter incident.  Of course Harley sells the the replacements in pairs so now I have a spare.
