So, several months ago my cousin says he has had May 20th on his calendar for the last couple of years, and wants to know if I want to ride along with him to Reno to take pictures of the eclipse. Heck yeah, anything for a ride. So, we book some rooms at the Nugget, and Saturday, May 19th we are off. Rode over Tioga Pass and took 395 north to Reno. On Sunday we rode to Carson City, then over to Virginia City where we ran into the "Ride for Ta Ta's Poker Run". So far I have not snapped one picture, cause that's not what we came for. So based on the NASA map, the best viewing spot is along Pyramid Lake. On our way we stop at the Pyramid Lake Store to stock up on water and snacks. Seeing as how we were only 8 miles from the perfect spot, we asked the owner if we could set up there for our pictures. She said we could, as long as we would tell the people who showed up that they were going to be closed during the Eclipse, while they BBQ'd behind the store. About 30 minutes into the eclipse, the owner walks around the store with a plate of bbq chicken, and corn on the cob for all of us, then a couple more bikers showed up and a party broke out...
