Damn, so if someone (say, for example, someone named Mike) had one of these on a quick release and it got stolen the thief would be getting away with tour pak, quick release kit, lock hardware, light kit, speakers, speaker boxes, amplifier, bluetooth module and whatever else might have been in the tour pak.

There is a locking latch for the quick release mount , Im ordering as we speak.

But unless it's been changed recently it doesn't work well with the 05 and later quick release rack.  Key has to be bent and shortened and even then it's tough to work and real easy to scratch thing with.

I found the same problem Don is talking about with my '05 - key was too long to easily remove it after turning the lock because it butts up against the bottom of the rack.  I tried installing the whole thing backward so the key lock was accessible, and it would work but having one rotate forward and the other backward could cause the whole thing to bind during removal.  So I cut about 1/4 inch out of the middle of the key and reattached the two ends ( I used a thin sleeve and epoxy, a wire welder would work great as well).  The fuzzy stuff covering the shanks in the photo is the soft half of a piece of self-adhesive velcro.  It serves two purposes: pads the key to help prevent scratches, and with the other half of the velcro it holds the key where I stash it in my locked saddlebag.  Works great.

I'm going to agree with you, Ultra...the leather tourpak was one of the things I like best about the 06 model when I saw one for the first time, as it is unique to all the Ultra models, and seperates the CVO bike from any other, aside from simply the paint scheme on the bike. Plus, at least for my passenger, it provides a very comfortable place for her...she loves it!!

If you think the leather tour pak is expensive, check out the Harmon/Kardon Audio System on page 512 of the new P/A catalog.
Radio Kit $999.95
Advanced Navigation System $1099.95
Satellite Radio Kit $495.95
Audio Intercom Kit $105.95
Advanced Rear Speaker Kit $432.95

GOSH, I think I may be getting a bargain on my '07 SE Ultra.
Now all I will have to do is pay $495.95 (plus labor) for the Bluetooth Hands Free Interface. Too bad they couldn't have thrown that in too for $33,500.

Well they don't refer to it as the MOFOCO for nothing!  Like I tell the folks around here about all the casinos near us - they didn't build all those fancy places by giving away more than they take in.  Gotta hand it to H-D - they really know how to get us.  Oh well, I luv it, bring it on.

Another vote in favor of the leather tour pack.  Like the looks and convenience of how it opens.  It may be smaller than the king tour pack but it's probably all a matter of perspective.  If you are coming from a bike with the larger tour pack I can understand why you may not like it.  But for myself, and probably many others, coming from a bike with no tour pack at all (Road King Classic) it's great.

When I first saw the 06, I liked the lok but did not care that much for it. Then as I rode around and saw the few CVO's with the TP I started to like it more and more. Just got the 07 and while its smaller, my wife will just have to do with less. I love the look and how different it makes our bikes. The bike really handles different from a regular Ultra in my way of thinking. Anyway thought I would add my 2 cents for what it's worth.
Ride safe.

If you have pictures with the 06 and the TP off I owuld like to see them.
Thanks [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I like the look and the way it opens, to me it fills out the bike, and the wife loves the back rest. I also like the look with it off, but for us it works fine.

Just a quick shot of mine minus the Tour-Pak and also minus the ugly (IMHO) license plate bracket.

Been riding heritage classic. Had leather tourpak ( detachable of course), and seems to be about the same size. It is whole lot easier to use and it locks!!!!!
