Anyone have I pod problems 2011 cvosg?
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:47:13 AM »

Randomly my Ipod does not sync up with the stereo. Shut it off it's fine, go to start it and all controls work fine, song and artist names show up and I can scroll ect... but no sound. Have to unplug Ipod and replug, then fine (till the next time it happens). Anyone else with this issue and if so have you been able to fix it?

Yes, but very intrmittent. If it happens I have had to pull over and unplug the connection next to the saddlebag and plug it back in. Then everything is fine. The last couple of times it happened, I scrolled up a time or two and all was fine. Maybe the Ipod has a brain fart or hiccup. Keep us informed.

Try scrolling through the menus on the radio (AM/FM/WB/etc) then back to Ipod and see if that works.

Yes the first few times it happened I was able to get it working again by scrolling or turning off and back on. Just generally screwing around with it but this weekend that didn't work had to unplug it. I guess as things get more technical they are prone to more issues. Oh well I guess I will just make sure it's working before I get on and ride away.

Mine does it intermittenly as well , always has. Can't really  find a cure all trick to getting it back on , it just quits and then starts without warning(sound) I've tried turning radio on and off, unplugging ipod cable, etc. sometimes it fixes it , sometimes not. What usually always works is resetting the ipod but most times I just leave it alone and it comes on eventually.
It also does not always display the actual song it is playing -----------it will display one ahead or behind?????

Mine is doing the exact same things, taking it to the dealer on Thursday but after reading this thread, not very encouraged...

Does it only do it with the HD Ipod? When I pick my new bike up on Tues, I'll have my own Ipod with me so I can have tunes for the inaugural ride. I'm hopin' it works as good on the bike as in the Jeep.

I added the ipod setup to my bike and it's doing everything you guys are experiencing I have a non-HD ipod Nano. Once again HD releases something before it's ready for prime time.

I am using an Ipod touch, but it seems to be A problem  accross the board with any Ipod. I let the dealer know so he can make A note in my file about the problem (for what it's worth) I don't want to be without the bike right now so I will put up with it for now unless it gets worse.

.....yep....new 2012 does it too (temporarily using a 120G Classic)....not initially at the dealer of course, but, last night when I went for an evening spin.....turning stereo off and on seemed to 'reset' it.
I have heard somewhere that turning the stereo off before turning the bike off is a good practice....I might start doing that .

I had similar problems with mine when new.  Never had anything done to it except updates when I downloaded additional songs from my home PC to the IPod.  I haven't had the problem now for several months.  I can't believe it fixed itself.  Maybe the ITune updates helped --- who knows.

I had a similar experience when I updated my ipod touch with the latest software.  For about a week it didn't work worth a damn.  I had to pull it off the cable and reset it almost evertime I got off the bike.  After that it has been better than ever, it even stopped doing that annoying thing where if the bike sat for more that hour or so, it would go back to the first song in the library.  Now I've let the bike sit for as much as 5 hours and when I started up the bike the ipod come back right where it was when I shut it off.
