Wondering what the groups thoughts are on what type of handgrips would be best for traveling with comfort. I used to use nothing but the cushioned grips but you cant get those anymore for newer bikes. I'm installing chrome 14 in handlebars and am thinking about the new Harley Magnum grips all black, looking for more thoughts on this. Would love to hear from all of you. Thanks again

I like and use the ISO grips JC mentioned above.  Another I also use that seem to get less press are the grips from SAC.  Very comfortable.  But also on the large side.  Not going to like them if you've got small hands.  They do offer some very cool looks though.  If interested check out the grips at:

Had the Kuryakyn grips on a prior RG.  Very comfortable.  Consider, however, this may not be a grip issue. Many of us simply squeeze the grips too tightly.  I have aluinum grips on the Titan and just have to make sure I relax my grip.

I had the grips on a Fat Boy once, they are High Quality.

I've ordered riding luggage from them before....  Never any problems of any kind...

Didn't I read/hear about some issues with those grips and hydraulic clutches due to the thickness of the grips, not being able to fully engage clutch, and no adjustments on the hydraulic clutches?

Two potential issues with the SAC grips I'm aware of Gary.  Potential issue with travel of the hydraulic clutch lever.  It was probably my bike you remember.  Though that was an issue of a combination of the SAC grips and a set of braided spoons that themselves had a slightly steeper curve than the stock levers.  All that in combination caused too little travel.  I went to ISO grips and different levers at the same time to solve the problem.  Never tried the SAC grips with stock levers to see if that combination would work.

Other potential issue is the use of Heat Demons heaters with the SAC grips.  The grips are thick enough it takes longer for the heat to radiate out to your hands.  It will.  Not quite as effectively.  So it's a difference one should be prepared for if using that combination.

With the Harley heated grips you can't use anything else.  The heating element and grip are an assembly.  So no option.  If you go with the Heat Demons kit as an aftermarket heating element the only thing to heed is that thicker or foam grips won't transmit the heat as well from the internally installed element out through the grip to your hands.

Nothing seriously wrong with the Rumble grips that came stock on Buster... but if I were going to replace them I agree wholeheartedly with JC... the Kury ISO-Grips are the best, most comfortable grips you can get... period. And I've tried a LOT of grips over the years...

The add-on wrist rest you can get with the Kury ISO-Grips is worth its weight in gold... for the MANY times you can't use you cruise control. It's integrated into the grip, and looks WAAAAY better than those cheesy plastic pieces you can get to slip over the throttle grip. I wouldn't have a $10 piece of plastic on a $40K motorcycle... but that's just my opinion...

If I ever replace the grips on Buster, I will replace them with the Kury ISO-Grips and the throttle palm rest. For group riding, they are PRICELESS.

Awww CRAP! That's ANOTHER thing added "The List"...  Actually, this one may get bumped right to the TOP... I do a fair amount of group riding... and for some unfathomable reason, they NEVER let me LEAD!

Must say with 2 cross country trips and about 12K miles, I've never found fault with the stock "rumble collection" grips on my '10
