Lost my best friend Scooter last night

After seventeen years of being by my side





My seventeen year old Maltese named Scooter died last night in an almost painless death. What a great companion that will always be missed. I always knew this day would come but she kept giving one day at a time.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your pet. 

Even if it's from a long term condition, we're never quite ready for the hole it leaves in our lives when they go.

Thanks for your kind words. She was blind for her last three years but was never sick for all those years.

Sorry for your loss Skillet. Our 4 legged family members are hard to say good bye to. I'll be facing the same thing before too long and definately not looking forward to that time. Being away from him for the last 5 yrs makes it even harder. Don't know if I'll find another friend like him after it does happen.

It's very had to know what reaction you'll have when the time comes. For me it was a moment of relief just because she was so old and putting up with the blindness but being somewhat selfish you don't ever want to lose them. So far I have received 35 e-mails of condolance from friends that knew her on our runs.

my heart goes out to you Skillet as I'm still missing my dog Jinx that we lost just a short while back.  It's almost like losing a buddy/friend/etc. as they're so much a part of your everyday life.  Just remember the good times and that you looked after Scooter while he was with you which gave him a great life.  spyder

Skillett so sorry for your loss. I have two Golden Retrievers that brighten my day every day and don't even want to imagine the day they are gone...  God Bless to you brother....
