Tragic car/motorcycles crash in Wisconsin... 10 motorcycles involved...

I took a trip to Revolution Performance in Plymouth, Wi. yesterday.  On the way home, I took Hwy. 23 out of Plymouth towards Fondulac, Wi, picked up Hwy. 151 south near Fondulac to Hwy. 26 south...and on home.  When on Hwy. 151 heading south, I encountered multiple emergency vehicles heading north on Hwy. 151.  It wasn't until this morning that I learned the emergency vehicles were heading towards this horrible accident.

In the attached news story, there is a video clip of the accident scene.  Shown is a 2004 O/B SEEG.  Hopefully it is no one we know...  The group is reported to be out of Michigan.

My condolences to all families and friends of those involved...

The names are listed just below in another link along with what the driver of the car is being charged for. Makes me sick how stupid vehicle drivers can be, prayers to all the motorcyclists and their families. :(

Condolences to the family of the deceased.  Healing prayers for all the injured riders and for a speedy recovery.

It's easy to guess some of the reasons something like this would happen, but hopefully they'll have a followup and report what caused the car to enter their lane without warning.

Yesterday a girl in a car almost hit me.  She was talking on a cell phone and turning in a double turn lane next to me.  When I twisted the throttle and sped up, (visualize loud pipes at throttle) she jerked back into her lane.  She was simply not paying attention to her driving.  I would have liked to give her my opinion of her actions at that moment.  Could have been not so pretty - for me.

The event in Michigan could be any of us on our group rides.  That's why I'm a little more Conservative on blind corners than some.  I simply will not assume the way is clear until I know for a fact and can see what's around the corner -- especially on roads I do not ride regularly.

God bless to all and safe riding.

Probably a texter....since the laws have come into effect, texting while driving has bee driven 'below the belt line'....so, you can't be seen texting AND have to take your eyes even further away from the road for longer. I've seen texters drift a half a lane over before making a correction.

And that's why I don't crowd or ride too close to the yellow line in BC on two or four lane roads. Didn't mean to take away from original post.

Very tragic.  Comments under article say it is a long straight stretch of road.  Obviously the driver of the car fell asleep or was distracted for whatever reason.  My prayers go out to the victims and their families.

The cage driver had quite a record and saw on the news tonight that there are concerns he may have done it on purpose.

Looking at his record he was probably high. With that many offences he should have been locked away permanently and this would never have happened. Condolences to the deceased rider's family and prayers that the injured riders have spedy recoveries.

Looking at the pictures...just horrific , and then to read that the cage driver had such a disregard for others. It really emphasizes the risk we all put ourselves into whether we are on our bikes or driving automobiles. With this guys history and if he was under the influence of anything he needs to be locked up for the safety of the public.
My condolences and prayers go out to the deceased and injured and their families.     :(

This guy was determined to hit someone that day...it just brings tears to my eyes that it was vulnerable motorcyclists.  Such a tragedy and in my opinion this was not an accident cause accidents can't be avoided and this could have been.  God bless those men and let's all keep them in our heart's and prayers.

How could one NOT see that many headlights/objects in the opposite lane?

One more reason to run the lights on 'bright' during daytime hours.

I hate it when people suffer at the hand of someone else's ignorance!! Loss of life and injury's that will haunt these people the rest of their lives! Not to mention family members too. Seeing a bike like mine at the scene kinda gives me the creeps! Very sorry for the family and friends loss! :(
