How often do you treat the leather seats? Figured that might be a good topic to open.

Define "treat"? Which products are being used? On my old Road King about twice a year at the start and end of the riding season I used to put that Harley saddlesoap looking stuff on our seats but have not put anything on my new seat yet.

Murphys oil soap.

Use it on Saddles and tack (for horses)

great stuff...

Get nice sponge, wet, squeeze until most water out, work into a lather (suds), wipe on/into surface, let sit for 30 seconds (wet), wipe off with clean towel, wipe off with damp sponge (clean water only), wipe with clean towel...perfect

Cheers!!

I use Lexol everytime I wash the bike while the seat is off. At least once a week. "Treat" car monthly, figure it's leather is behind solar glass, bike out in the sun with nothing to protect it but me keeping it clean and treated.

I do mine with either Lexol, or now, Griot's Leather/Vinyl conditioner.  It doesn't leave that "shiney" look to the seat, and you don't have to worry about it not being soaked in well.  The Harley goop is OK, but it needs to soak in for a while.

Basically, I do mine when the seat begins to look like it needs it...you can tell.  Mine usually gets done maybe three times a year, depending on how much I ride and what kind of conditions the seat has been subjected to.

But, more often doesn't hurt anything... :2vrolijk_21:

usually 1 good treating a year. around christmas, bring the seat's, backrests, and saddle bags off the road king in the house. wipe down with damp cloth. apply HD saddle soap good heavy coat, let sit over night, next day warm leather with blow dryer and wipe off, re-peat process for two or three more days. If it goes in a show it gets a light coat just for the shinny effect.
