WHY OR WHY BUY THIS SETUP
« on: June 03, 2012, 07:33:26 AM »

OK I'm within a week of pulling the trigger on a new exhaust system....which i hate after spending 30K on a bike i held out for year so its like layaway for U old timers.
WHAT I GOT: 2011 FLHXSE2
WHAT I WANT V&H POWER DUALS, V&H HI OUTPUT, SE PRO SUPER TUNER
WHY: PIPES I LOOKS LIKE V&H PDs are popular and come with good reviews well known in the industry
CANS - From what i read HOs are the loudest V&H offer for FL series and I like the look better than CFR, Monster Ovals, Rinehart's
SEPST - dealer says if stay with SE on the tuner NO Issues with extended warranty
I like riding with tunes who knew i could be easyrider but I want to hear my tunes
I want heads to turn when I crank it at a stop light

I have friend who has a sporty with just SE slipons and its loud and she has a rocker with V&H Big Radius 2into2 and both bikes sound better than me my stock CVO will my new setup be on par with the rocker and sporty??

thanks for your time

There's a conflict between your desire for loud pipes and clear tunes. Interested in how you resolve that one.

Also a conflict between the desire for loud pipes and some of the European national/Federal or more local level governments.  We all know how that "conflict" works out when it comes time to pay the fine.

get that in writing unless you are on really good terms with you dealer. SE parts are listed in the catalog as "Race Only" parts with means no warrenty. FYI
I know that my dealer throws them on everything but they have also been to alot of HD warranty classes this yr. So i am wondering when that "Race Only Part" line will cause someone a voided warranty due to having racing parts on there bike.

I have a local dealer that is real good with working with customers like that. You don't have to buy your bike there. Mainly because All the CVO's they get are sold several months in advance.

concerns with the my setup and being in germany yes taking a risk but I'm in the army so I'll take a chance hopefully it wont be too expensive if i do get busted by the noise patrol. germans have two muffler systems kess tech and Jekyll and Hyde they are electronically controlled sound. At the push of a button a valve inside the can takes the bike from stock sound to utter obnoxious! Problem is its expensive 2K.

Dragonass. That is the same setup I have on my 2011 SESG. Runs great, looks great , sounds great. I can hear all my music at most speeds. High speeds 80 and up the wind noise prevents clear hearing of the music. Your going to love it.

...here is another thing to consider........   http://www.peacemakersexhausts.com/   ........no experience with it, but , I've heard that people in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada are using them because of last year's intro of new noise laws.

Sticking with V&H which is louder and why pick one over another. Dresser Duals with Hi Output vs Power Duals with Hi Outputs

I have the V&H POWER DUALS, V&H HI OUTPUT, (In Black)SE PRO SUPER TUNER and love this set up, except recently did a 1900 mile trip to the South of France and back to the UK, and my ears were ringing for 2 days after.  :nixweiss:

I think the continual sound of the HI Outputs and the stereo blasting out is maybe not so good for your hearing, I am going to get some high quality earplugs for my next long trip!!! :cucumber:  or maybe a better helmet; the HD Aviator isn't the greatest.

I too have the VH Power Duals and the HO cans.  Yes, it is loud but also has a nice deep rumble. No issue with tunes at all.  I used the Power Vision.  It is truly a 5 minute plug and play tuner.  so no dyno needed.  Call Jamie at Fuel Moto.  He has a custom map that he includes with the set up. definitely the way to go IMHO.  Good luck.

one other piece of info that you may find useful.  I recently used a sound meter to measure the level of sound of the High Outputs, at idle at the back of the bike.  It was 125db's, which of course is very loud.  Just thought that you might find that useful.
