This was at idle, so figure about 1,000 rpm.

Hi Guys
The problem I see in using the adjustable exhaust systems is this. If your bike is tuned for quiet then opening up the pipes for free flow you just changed the tuning thath the fuel injection or carb is not set up for. If you tunned for free flow then you are out of adjustment for quiet. Best to set pipes 1/2 way on open/close then make the fuel/air/injector settings. This way when you are at the extreeme of either end it will not be way off tune. Great Idea if it gets properly tuned. My luck it would break when in quiet mode. I have Custom S.S. stepped 2-1 collector that is louder than the Thunderheaders and have not gotten any tickets yet with thousands of miles on them.
Good Luck with your Choices sometimes they were right sometimes not.

There's a conflict between your desire for loud pipes and clear tunes. Interested in how you resolve that one.

There's a thread on this forum someplace about those that think Vance & Hines is junk.  I'm one of them.   Read the same thing on a number of other forums, too.

He has some challenges in front of him......or just flush his money down the toilet. :nixweiss:

Dragonass81, I have the exact system on my bike. Had the dealer put it on when I picked her up new. It is a great sound and can here the Boom Audio over the pipes when radio is mid way up. The pipes have a very low rumble and people will not mind riding behind you. Had Reinhardts on my old bike and they were nice but some folks would keep a distance. VH has the best chrome and finish on them. No issues. SE tuner?  That depends on how friendly and nice you are with your dealer. Ex Warranty says no MODS to the bike. Tuner is a Mod. I have a great relationship with my dealer and take it to him for everything. They take care of me when needed. Good luck and it's money well spent. Enjoy
