FXR3 laid down
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:50:34 PM »

Last week on Tuesday I was on my way home from work, not but 3 or 4 miles from home, when I went down. There were 2 cars headed north as I was south bound. Car#1 was stoppping to turn left into an appartment comp0lex and car#2 wasn't paying attention...go figure...and rear ended #1. The impact was right next to me and it looked like they were going to hit me. I braked and swerved but the front brake locked.I laid iit over on the right side at about 40mph. I was lucky enough to roll off into the grass. The extent of my damages; scrapped knee and 1 pin in a broke right thumb. My bike;  busted right miror and turn signals scrapped air cleaner cover and exhaust heatshields and bent rear brake pedal oh and gotta replace wind shield. I won't be able to ride for 6 to 8 weeks but bike should be fixed soon.

There seems to be a lot of mishaps this spring.  Seems to always be higher in the spring but incidents drop as riders get more time in the seat and cagers more used to seeing motorcycles :2vrolijk_21:  Glad to hear your OK and nothing major!

Glad you made it relatively unscathed!

I take the State experienced rider course every couple of years just to remind myself what to do in swerves and front and rear brake locking situations but you never know just how you'll react when the time comes.

Glad you're OK  :2vrolijk_21: The scooter can be fixed, we take longer to heal up. Get her done and back out in the breeze!
