Though the cemetery duly holds a special service four times a year for veterans who are buried without family present, the circumstances bring up the question of what exactly constitutes a "dignified burial."
No disrespect to other's views! This could be argued in a hundred ways.
(Shows caring that this was posted!)
Respect doesn't come from the cost of a casket.
I didn't see where there was disrespect in the way he was buried.
A fancy casket is for displaying a body for the burial service.
A service is for the living to be honored by the life that someone lived, and the person that somebody was.
Obviously nobody was worthy of this vet's honor as they didn't show up for a service or claim his body.
Maybe another honor for him was caring for and burying everybody he loved before him.
Thanks to him and all WWII vets for his/their service to our country/world.
