Just don't go nuts with the spacers, as the further out the floorboards are, the more likely the brackets are going to scrape before the outside edge of the board does.  The brackets don't give...the floorboards do.  3/4" spacers on both sides is not too much.  Beyond that, it gets a little iffy, depending on which bike it is (SG's are 1" lower in the rear from the factory, as are SERG's), and what the suspension is like.  Also depends on your riding style.

Hope the get it tuned well for you and you are happy with the results.

After Dyno tune with SERT... vibrations seem WORSE! :(

Floorboards buzz my feet numb.... and handgrips buzz my hands and feel like carpal tunnel.... mirrors.... still useless....  Maybe changing headpipes always does this.... I have never changed them on any of my other bikes.

Before pipes this bike was as smooth as my CTS-V... now it feels like I am riding a buzzy electroshock therapy device or have joy buzzers mounted in the grips.  Disappointed....

Dealership owner told me to ride it for a few days and if I am still not happy they will swap back my stock headpipe and not charge me a dime.  I think he knows that I will just get used to it in a few days and that I will like the sound (which I do), like when you get a different bike and it takes a few days to get used to it.  His advice was to ride around in a lower gear, I typically rode in 6th at 60mph... rpms at 2200 or so... he says to ride in 5th... rpms at 2500 or 2600.... and save 6th for higher speeds.  I have found myself riding 70mph everywhere now in 6th to help with the buzzy feeling.  Bike seems to rev alot faster for sure.

Maybe floorboard extenders would help, IDK...

dyno numbers... with headpipe and hi-output mufflers before tune: 82.92 Max Power and 101.83 Max Torque under these conditions: 74.07 degrees F, 1006.12 mBars, 36% Humidity SAE:0.99

numbers after tune with headpipe and hi-output mufflers: 88.62 Max Power and 103.56 Max Torque under these conditions: 78.87 degrees F, 1006.12 mBars, 25% Humidity SAE:0.99

I think you're dealing with a bunch of incompetents.  Take the dealer up on his offer to remove the parts, reinstall the stock parts, and of course reimburse all the money you've spent so far to have them screw up your ride.  Then go somewhere else and get what you want done right.  This stuff is done every day all over this country, and most people do not have the problems you are having.

There are a multitude of bikes running the same System you have without any problems, has nothing to do with the equiptment a lot to do with a sub standard installation.

I had the V&H Dresser Duals on a 2011 SE Street Glide. Yes my bike shook more than stock but then again it was no longer stock. I eventually removed the dresser duals becuase I'm running V&H hi-outputs because they were load as %$#@!

I cut the cat out of my stock 2-1-2 header and re-installed it. MUCH quieter but the rumble shake was a little less noticable.

If you were previously running a balanced twin cam motor these vibration mounted engines definitely shake as compared to the balanced motor.

CVObros2...there is no valid reason you are getting vibrations like you describe with just changing out the exhaust system, unless it is incorrectly installed.

The "tune" you got is highly suspect.  A gain of less than 2 ft lbs of TQ is just not right, even with the warmer ambient air temps.  And the SAE correction factor is screwed up.

As suggested earlier, I would have this dealer remove everything they've done, refund my money, and go elsewhere.

Ok, it's been a few days.... Saturday I rode a totaly of 200+ miles... two lane and four lane interstate.  Halfway through the ride I got off to take a break and refuel and my feet were numb.

I think I am going to contact the dealership owner and ask to put the stock headpipe with cat back on and re-install the factory computer tune.

This whole ordeal has been a learning experience, lesson learned... "If it isn't broke, don't fix it."

I mean this isn't a sportster, it's a CVO street glide... "Glide" being a key word... you should be able to ride for miles and miles and not be in a bad way when you stop for a break.

That's my opinion anyway.  :nixweiss:

What you have experienced is NOT normal.  Hundreds have done the exact mods you have done with no change in ride quality.

We are riding the exact same bike but I have Fullsac 2-1-2. Have had them off many times doing other mods, never a vibration... smooth as warm butter.

There's a sequence to putting them on.

Loosen everything up, don't take it off, just loosen it up.

Wiggle the exhaust system and let it find its sweet spot, check for any rubbing especially near the rear brake pedal.

Once everything is in place, start at the back and tighten the muffler brackets in the rear making sure the rubber grommets on the brackets are in place.

Move to the front cylinder and snug it, then the back and snug it.

Check the rear break hinge again and make sure it isn't touching the front exhaust tube.

Tighten up the cross over hanger and wiggle it again.

Finish tightening up the exhaust heat ports then the very last thing you do is tighten the carriage bolt under the tranny cover.

The tune would have to be real crap to cause the vibration...

Agreed... go find someone who knows what they are doing. You've been fed a bunch of BS.

Finally got stock head pipe put back on my bike.  And they were supposed to put the factory stock tune back in my bike also... can they do that at a dealership...???

Because I don't think they did that... I still have the vibrations in the grips, mirrors, and floorboards even WITH stock equipment re-installed.... :( I think they just took the dresser duals off and put my pipe back on and said it's ready.... Had the same mechanic work on my bike on the install and the re-installation of my stock pipe...(I don't think he was happy about it) half-ass job I think.

I think that dyno tune screwed up how my bike is running and that is causing the vibrations... in 6th at 60mph... my feet go numb and they never did before this whole headpipe fiasco... >:(

I should have left well enough alone and never tried changing it... I didn't know it would screw my bike up... I hate riding it now... I am ready to get rid of it and just stop riding all together and I loved this thing before all of this!

It pains me to read about your frustration.  :'(. As other's have stated earlier, it IS NOT YOUR SCOOTER  :soapbox:  You are going to the same dealer and the same mechanic is working on your mc.  :nixweiss:  Before you give up riding and walk away from your scooter, at least take it to someone that knows what the heck their doing. I can assure you that a competent mechanic can correct this problem.  :wall:

I'm going to try to reply on my phone...

Man I feel for you... I bought a 103 Ultra put Vance and Hines true duals on and I got the exact same vibration put 1300 miles on the bike and traded it in for a c v o. I was pissed and financially broke After that endeavor. I hated that bike after that work it had to go. I tried everything without going into detail... and I am no rookie at this. Very sorry for your misfortune I spent hours and days looking for that vibration with good changes to no avail. floorboard extensions, pipe on pipe off, different bracket.

I know over the years I have made changes, tour pack off I get a slow speed wobble, I had a passenger and you get pinging, different fuel and you get detonation .. I am sorry to say but I had to sell that glide to see that problem go away...

Putting pipes on a bike and tuning it (if it's a tune that lets the bike run without sputtering, backfiring, etc) will NOT cause the problems you are experiencing.  For one thing, 60mph and 6th gear do not do well together.  IMO, you're lugging the engine, which can cause all sorts of problems.  Yes, the dealer can re-flash your ECM with A stock calibration.  If the dyno tune screwed up your bike, something broke, shifted, or is in the process of failing.  Does the dealer even acknowledge that ther IS a problem?  Have you tried another dealership?  Last...is there a Lemon Law in your State?
