Garmin 665 on a 2012 SESG
« on: June 08, 2012, 01:58:36 PM »

I'm getting ready to order a Road Tech 665 for my 2012 SESG.  Without me having to remove the fairing to find out, can someone tell me if the new 2012 has the Ultra overlay harness with the 6a and 6b connectors required to connect the NIM on a Garmin?

When I order the Garmin (I plan to call Rebecca at Tri County), I want to get all the parts necessary for a plug and play and not find out during the install that I'm missing something... :o  Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

I found the install instructions posted by legalley in a previous thread... http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=66425.0

His step by step seems fairly straightforward...I'm going to go ahead and order the NIM and connector kit with the Zumo.  I'm still not sure if I'm ready to tackle the connector mods and splicing required, but we'll see...  :confused5:  I'm thinking I need to get the practice and experience playing with these connectors on something besides a $33k bike...
