About five to six years ago when I was in Sturgis at the HD Centre, I met a few HD Milwaukee Factory Employees and I mentioned the CVO Website, they all mentioned that some are site members, however do not identify themselves as being HD employees they do visit quite often, when I asked if they posted on the site they all answered "no" it would be against corporate policy.
We know that they do visit the site as a few years ago, I forgot the gentlemen's name (Paul I think) from their HD Marketing posted on the website that they would like the opportunity to get together with members of the CVO website in during the Rally in Sturgis, he set up a meet with us in Rapid City, SD at the "Fire Hall" and approx. 12 - 15 CVO Website members showed up and had civil drinks and snacks. HD had design engineers and marketing people etc. and I also met one of them again at the Canadian HOG Rally in Calgary, they rode from Sturgis to Vancouver over to Calgary and back to Milwaukee. They all listened, what got back to the MOCO is hard to say.

This is true. The Motor Company monitors a lot of these sites to get the real feedback from their customers.
Back in 2002 and until last year, in addition to my CVO Street Glides, I owned a series of V-Rods and would visit one of the V-Rod sites to see what was going on. The Motor Company monitored that site regularly to better learn the likes and dislikes of the owners and their various models.
They also set up a standing "meet and greet" with coffee and doughnuts at the Convention Center during Daytona Bike Week each year. The engineers, marketing people and even Willie "G" attend. As a result, lots of improvements showed up in subsiquent models.
One funny story is similiar to this thread. We were all bantering around what the new models would be like and I posted a humerous comment about that and mentioned that I could be fired for releasing such confidential information.
The next day when I went to check the topic I found that the real Willy "G" had posted a response to me as a joke saying "I told you not to mention confidential information or you would be fired".
So I am a believer that they monitor all of these sites.
