Black vs Chrome LED Headlight
« on: June 17, 2012, 12:44:00 PM »

Has anyone installed the LED Headlight yet? I know it boils down to personal preference however, which color would look best black or chrome? Does anyone have pictures?

Just installed these the other day. The LED headlight on its own, id have to say that I am disappointed, IMHO i didn't really gain much over stock. With the AUX lights added, I love it. Such a different light, its crazy how the white and yellow lines on the road just pop right out at ya. Plus they look pretty bad ass.

I added the chrome one on my softail conv and the difference in the light output is dramatic.  Like a candle vs a bonfire.

Black or chrome is a question of personal preference IMO. I installed the chrome version - like it a lot, both from the looks and the better visibility.

I would like to thank everyone so far for your posts, I have a 2010 Spiced Rum SESG, I am thinking black or chrome would work just not sure on the black. I would like to see it on a Spiced Rum if there is one out there...

Black LED headlight and black LED spots installed on the 11.5 SEUC.
The 12 SERG will get the black LED's headlights also.

Do you have to adjust the beam when you install the led.

You certainly have to adjust the beam. The LED light comes with a new mount, the original will not accommodate the new style light. After you swap it out you will have to do an alignment. There are instructions with the light that are exclusive to the LED's so use them and not your service manual instructions. I followed the instructions to the "T" but still found my head light to be aimed a little high, got it dialed in now though. Great lights, I put chrome headlight and passing lamps on mine and they look as good as they perform.

Stock mount and led mount were exactly the same on my bike, just used the original one.
