V & H Monster Rounds.
« on: June 24, 2012, 12:04:38 PM »

Had a set of Monster Round slip ond fitted yesterday. Fabulous low down deep rumble. The way a Harley should sound in my opinion.  Then rode through the Hindhead 1mile plus tunnel. What a fabulous noise.  :jalapeno:
I'll post some pics at weekend. I have heard though that the billet chromed ends tend to shed the chrome quite readily. So it will be black powder coating when that starts happening.  :jalapeno:

I had them for 14,000 miles and no chrome problem at all. They still looked new.

Understood TFB but Texas traffic authorities don't spread inch thick layers of salt and grit on your roads every winter do they.  Anyways my Harley now sounds like a Harley.  :jalapeno:

My left one is flaking chrome. Hadn't thought about powder coating but hmm, that might be the ticket.

They suit the style of the SG and sound tough, perfect choice for a cruiser IMO.

Just rode mine today for the first time with the Monsters, S&S head pipe, SERT, and a dyno. Woke the bike up, much more driver friendly, and lots cooler....with  a nice rumble to it.

Anywhere north of where I live now is TOO FRIGGIN' FAR NORTH for me!

Of course, our forecast is currently: Thurs 99, Fri 104, Sat 102, and Sun 99. I won't be riding anywhere this weekend... more like staying in the SWIMMING POOL!

Peter3 - glad you like the sound!

If/when you can, change the headers too, will cool the bike down a bit more too, but they are still warm, especially in the TX heat.  I haven't had a problem with the chrome flaking yet on the high outputs.

We do get enough ice here that they do spread some chemicals on the roadways, but "Cali" isn't exposed to that crap.  Usually don't even take my car out during that weather, we tend to shut down with the ice.

I've just the slip ons. Theres enough power in the 110 engine for my needs. Maybe, once warrenty runs out I might change the headers / cat etc, but thats a lot of cash to do so.

I have a set on my 2010 SESG also put a set of V&H Power Duels on at same time. Love the sound and no problem with chrome.
