On mine the problem is between the mediallion and the adhesive. First the front came loose then it was replaced and the new one by the time I rode it home (about 15 Miles) the back came loose. The dealer asked me if I would just let them use their own adhesive to make it stick, I told them as long as it didn't void the warranty and they didn't make a mess on my tank and noted it in the system what they did I was fine with it. So far it is still holding up.

Reply to KJMessner Question.

I used good ol "crazy glue".  I took a lot of preventive steps in the preparation to make sure I did not damage or get any glue on the tank, motor, etc.

I slightly pulled the emblem away from the adhesive pad and applied the crazy glue the adhesive pad and put the emblem back in place and held pressure on the emblem for several minutes and so far it is holding. Still got my fingers crossed.

Is this only on the Ultras? I've not heard of it on the SGs.

I have same issue on my FLHXSE3, first time my dealer replaced the lift side emblem, after 3 days it came off by it self, went to the dealer again placed 2nd order, after 2 weeks I went to dealer to install the new emblem.

We noticed that right side it came off from front side, again another order.

However, as long as the dealer changing the emblems under warranty, I will keep on doing this with dealer.

All the dealer has to do is move the emblem back about an inch and they will stay on.

My right hand emblem is loose too, just the outer part not the part that hooks directly to the tank. Friend of mine same thing. If moving the right emblem back a inch helps why doesn't the left one come loose? And won't the left and right be uneven?

Had mine replaced twice.  Second time I told them they needed to move the emblem back.  Third one has stayed on.

Had mine done twice. The first time when they replace the right side emblem they scratched the crap out of my tank getting the old one off and tried to give it back to me all scratched to chit. It looked like they took a scrapper and went from front to back all the way down. After I chewed thr ass the recleared my tank. Sad we can get any descent device any more and can't get a good product either. Verry sad. But I sure like to ride this bike.

I read this thread when it first came out. Since my bike was new I let it slide. I saw the thread again just now and decided to check it. Mine is loose at the front of the right side medallion just like so many others.

And if this emblem problem isn't bad enough took my bike in to the dealer today the clear coat on my fairing at the top is peeling off. Sad these bikes cost so much and fall apart. Anyways they ordered a new fairing said the old one could not be fixed. That makes it alittle better I guess.

While washing my ride a few days back I noticed the right side tank emblem moved when I ran the chamois across the front of the tank.  The emblem was not stuck to the double sided pad about a third of the way back.  Has anyone else seen this?   :nixweiss:

Thanks

Mine tooooo!!!! I had the dealer look at it and they were suprised. Not me my bike went down the assembly line on a bad day!!!!

I noticed last night that my emblems are not even. When I showed another Harley owner at work this morning I noticed the right side emblem is also loose at the rear. This is my second tank, due to another issue which should have been caught at the factory or at least during prep at the dealership. I will take it to the dealer and see what they say next.

My right side outer emblem started pulling loose from the part that attaches to the tank several months ago. I used 3M weatherstrip adheasive (double sided tape) and it has held tight since.......So far.
