Sorry but haven't bought them yet. The plan is to buy the 5.25 for the rear and the 7.25 Rokkers for the fairing and using the stock Ultra amp at 40w per channel. Shouldn't be enough to blow them out but I wonder if we ned to really crank them up to get good sound. That's one of the reasons I'm going to the Fullsac 2"...need Ol' blue to not be quite as loud. Curious to see what other feedback you get out of this thread.

Maybe that 40 watt amp isn't enough to drive those speakers.  You might need more power to properly drive them and not blow them by just playing them too loud.  That's why I haven't done anything with mine yet.  :nixweiss:

Jerry,

I had no issues with my Rokker speakers. I have a couple questions on your amp set-up:
Where did you install the Arc Audio amp? Under the TP or in one of your bags? Was it a plug and play installation? Thanks.

Hey JW,
It was far from plug-n-play. ;) I installed the amp under the fairing. Check out the following topic I wrote on the install:

This past winter installed the 7.25's in front with the 5.25's in the rear with there 500 watt amp under the fairing......was getting out for a ride in May turned on the radio and pop she went....destroyed two of the four speakers and the amp...J & M replaced all four speakers and the amp....still waiting for an explanation of the cause....I don't have that warm fuzzy feeling about there equipment as of now...So yes I had some damaged Rokkers..

This is interesting, especially since I just ordered 2- 7.25 Rokkers to replace my original J&M 7.25's. I also have the J&M 250 watt amp... What is the word back on why they blew...

Thanks Jim. I'm on hold now but thought J&M would be the best way to go. No warm and fuzzy here as well. Wish I had my schematics with me to see what is used in the factory amp and how it all interconnects. Not sure if it's just an amp or if it's part of the integrated system. Maybe the radio takes care of all signal mixing (CB, intercom, radio, XM etc) and the amp is just a dumb device. Sounds like the ARC amp might be another option. Not sure about impedence matching from a 2 ohm system being fed into a 4 ohm amp but I'm thinking the ARC is available in 2 ohm. I should remember all that stuff but have forgotten too much I guess.

CVOThunder,
The ARC Audio amp will drive a 2 ohm load. The other thing to consider is the amp inputs. Some will not accept the the high level output from the stock radio. The ARC Audio and J&M will. Just some points to consider.......
