I see that Harley now offers the 5.3/4" LED headlight.Has anyone bought this? What are your thoughts? Comes in chrome or black.

Thanks,

Frank,

There are several threads in the ConV forum discussing this. Do a quick search for for more info but in short it is excellent.

when all the dust settles in what I have going on for this summer, I may have to look into this myself.  I know what it was like going from the stock bulb to the really more better more brighter IAA bulb thingy  (see, I'm really not that technically technical).  I also love more light and feel one just can't get too much light out there on the road to be able to see deer as they lurk in the ditches ready to pass just in front of you when they hear or are attracted to our motors or our lights or whatever.  They are the "moths" of the highway.  There;  "highway moths"  There's a new name for deer...........remember, you read it first right here on the forum.  ha!   Pork.

Yes they are!  I can only imagine how many deer I have driven past over the last number of years.  Them that were lurking in the shadows.  When I put the PIAA bulb as a replacement, I remember thinking WOW to myself as it was probably 50% more lighy put precisely in the right spot for seeing things along the road.  However, I also had the standard driving lights on the Heritage as well. I miss that about this bike.  I have a thought that a light bar could be doable with this '12.  Maybe this winter I may have time to 'speriment.  What I would really like is one of thosse hydrogen lights or whatever they're called that just light up the countryside but then it might blind oncoming traffic and wouldn't want to do that either.  So, in the meantime I will keep track of this thread and others and see how others feel about the LED light.

No, not at this time.  "Bizarro" threw some "Kryptonite" at me as my wife was laid off going on 3 months ago now so I have to live within our means which means this is the bike that we'll have for now.  Probably shouldn't have stretched this far.  Am reallllllly curious what the heck a breakout is, though.  what do you think it looks like?  Remember now the Street Glide is gone.  Not sure I could even go for a Heritage now that I have experience the look and feel of a 200m rear tire.  But with this new LED light, I could probably "see better" to make a more realistic assessment of that theory.      Pork.

The "breakout" is already backordered?

I had to go out of town last week for business and had been mentioned to my wife that it was time for our first service.
Also I discussed my desire to one day have not only the headlight changed to LED but all the lights.
Guess what happened when I was gone? She called the dealer and was able to negotiate a nice discount on all parts and labor.  They came and picked up my bike and I was surprised when I returned Friday..in the pm the dealer delivered our bike with all new LED lighting! All I can say is WOW what a Major difference..now I can see and we can be seen much better by others.  She did good...my only complaint:  for what we pay for this CVO this should be Standard Equipment...also it goes without saying but I will- I have a great wife !
