Need a cup holder. Which one?
« on: July 01, 2012, 08:32:13 PM »

I'm looking to buy a drink holder for my 2011 CVO SG. I guess they are all handle bar mounted. Anyone know of a good one?

Check this site out.  Bought one at a bike rally and works really good.  http://www.chubbycups.com/

Kruzzer Kaddy http://www.kruzerkaddy.net/products.html (which is probablly the most popular) has a mount to the Switch Housing.

I turned mine upside down after I put my Apes Handle bars on, so it wouldn't be so high up.

I also found a Thermos Cup at Kroger's that fits perfect and holds ice a really long time.

Personal preference like so many things.  I'll spend $2K in an upgrade but won't spend jack chit on a cup holder.

I went the super cheap route for the cup holder, was able to get it for about $16.00 at one of the local bike part swaps.  It's not chrome or pretty, but it works.

I have two different huggies that I use inside the cup, one is a regular beer coozie for water bottles that I freeze before the ride, they melt, and stay cold for a long time, and the other is a nylon thin coozie, that I wrap around an insulated water bottle for other beverages.

You'll rarely hear me recommending a Kuryakyn part, but their Snap-N-Go cup holder with the basket is the single greatest motorcycle accessory ever made. I can hold anything from a 12 oz soda can to a 44 oz Styrofoam cup with no problem. I like it so much, I have one on three of my bikes. Plus you can pop it off at a show or bike night, and all that's left is a chrome stud.  Here's a link.  Not the cheapest price, but should show you which part I'm talking about:

The one from HD that mounts to the left down tube of the frame and is a chrome arm and a cup holder on the end it is completely out of tyhe way!!! I have had 2 others and this one is best, and I will not change it again, it functions great!!!

Living in Arizona and having to cope with hydration I have tried almost everyone to hit the market.  It is a trade off between cluttering the handlebar which provides easy access or less clutter and a bit of a stretch.  I have settled on one that mounts to our engine guards which is an easy reach and keeps the bar clear for other goodies like gps or tunes.   Kuri makes the model I am currently using.

I use this one from Leader: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/CTGY/drink.html      I have it in chrome and also purchased the cup and the sling to hold water bottles.  It works well.  One can remove the ring part which leaves an unobtrusive chrome mounting bracket on the switch housing.  I also have the GPS holder on the clutch side of my bars.  They are expensive; however, it is made in the USA and if one is serious about buying American, one may have to pay a bit more.  It mounts easily with the supplied bolts.

IMO, a cup holder on the handle bars screws up the lines of a bike.

I figure, I can stop every 90 minutes for a beverage instead - if needed!

I agree they look a little silly on a bike. Stop and get a drink.

You may want to take a look at this line. https://www.hogtrough.com/hogtrough-products/. Carp(the inventor and owner) is a great guy. American made all the way or he will not sell it
