High Performance Clutch with Hydraulic Actuation
« on: August 09, 2006, 06:45:44 PM »

This is listed on the HD website but not on the brochure as standard for the '07 CUSE.

Any of you new '07 owners have any comments on how well it works, differences, is it on your bike?  etc...

thanks.

This is the same clutch/hydraulic set-up that came on the '04's and probably the '03's, '05's, and '06's. With the hydraulic set-up it is easier (less pull) to use the clutch. I would think because of the Stroker motors (more hp/tq) is why they are using the "High Performance Clutch". The main differences I notice is that your arm/hand (clutch) doesn't get as fatigued if you do a lot of stop and go.

The hydro clutch is a dream for sure, but I have to say that the clutches in the 06 & up models are actually easier to pull than the hydro clutch. I doubt they will handle the output on the 103 motors though.....

If you want a very light clutch leverpull, you can add a Variable Pressure Clutch.
Together with a hydraulic system it's superb.

So, am I correct in seeing that there is no longer a cable with the adjuster mid-frame?  How is it actuated from the lever?

Jim,

I think if you were to add the heavy duty spring from the 103's or 110's the effort would increase significantly.  The '06 reduced effort clutches actually have a weaker spring than previously, along with the ramp-and-ball change.  Have you seen any problems with that system once someone starts to increase the power a little?
