King Tour Pak or Chopped Tour Pak
« on: July 03, 2012, 10:37:06 AM »

I have a 2012 CVO Street Glide Dark Slate and Black Diamond.  I have added the 4 point connect.  My question is does any one have any photos of my bike with either rear luggage attached or which one would you think looks the best with this bike!!!!!!! :bananarock:

I chose the King Tour Pack and glad I did. I do think the chopped tour pack looks cooler but my thinking was when I put it on I'm usually going some where and I need all the room I can get. When the wife goes believe me you'll need plenty of storage. Sometimes I ride to the store for some things and put it on. Rack on top is a good place to strap on a bag of charcoal!  :)  I feel the same about the luggage rack on the lid too! Extra bag on top helps too! You can strap jackets or helmets on top of that bag if it warms up, or you just don't want to wear them. Don't go to far from home without either one of them, especially if rain or cold is a possibility! Just my thoughts on King or Chopped Box.  ;D

Mitch I moved your thread to the model specific board since you are requesting pictures of the TP's on a specific bike.

Regarding which will look better that's all in the eyes of the person (you) looking at the bike. The better question (IMO) would be what will you be using the TP most for?? If it's touring (multi-day trips) or just for added daily storage?? If you are wanting a sleek/draggin bagger look then the Razor TP looks the best, if you wanting something for added daily storage space but not the bulk of a KTP than the chopped looks best and would meet your neeeds, if you want something for maximum storage space while touring then the KTP will be your best option. If you have unlimited $$$ get all three on detachable hardware and you're covered. :D :D

X10.  If it's not a permanent install and only on for long trips, you'll want all the space you can buy.  My KTP spends most of it's days mounted to my wall.

Last weekend I rode from Colorado Springs to Great Falls, MT.  Hit Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton NPs.  I ran with my solo seat, as my better half stayed home, and I left the KTP home too.  4 days worth of clothes and gear, my bags were packed to the gills.

Towards the end, I wish I would have brought it, despite the change in aesthetics.   That much extra space is invaluable.

"For looks" I prefer the Chopped. I already had one, so I had it painted to match the new bike.

If you can only have one it would have to be the king. I am lucky and have both a chopped for the shorter rides and a king (with luggage rack and spoiler) for longer rides like the one we are on now.

King.  I have one on order.  Wouldn't even think of anything less. The chopped just doesn't hold hardly anything. The king holds lots.  Get the king.  :2vrolijk_21:

This is just my opinion about street glides and tour packs.  I don't like the looks of them on the SESG.  The thing is they do serve a purpose in carrying extra gear.  If I was getting one it would be for rides that I was gone for several days and would not run out of storage space .  I would get the king pack.  In matter of fact I'm really considering getting the king pack.

I travel light. Chopped looks great and plenty big for me. No bsr just solo.

The chopped works for me. Did 16 days solo with a chopped pack and a bad. Just did 5 days with the wife. We pack light, and are staying in hotels. One bag for tools, cover, misc stuff like that. The other bag for jackets, chaps, etc, TP was hers, and the bag was mine, no problem. More space would be mice I am sure.

You'll love it on trips!!!  :2vrolijk_21:  And if you're 2 up she'll love it and you too for it!! My wife likes it a lot better than just a regular back rest! Might even pay off!!  :orange:  :)

Just get the chopped pak.  It looks better, and you don't need to be carring around all that extra stuff anyway.   :cucumber:
